Founded in 2009
With over 15 years’ experience in recruiting Lean and Business Transformation professionals from SME’s to major global organisations, Lean Executives can successfully identify, qualify and secure those individuals with the behavioural and personal skills together with the technical toolkit required to bring about cultural and bottom line performance improvement. Daniel McDonald founded Lean Executives in January 2009.
He has provided senior level Lean recruitment consultancy services to organisations internationally for the last 24 years. Daniel works in tandem with his loyal client base and is genuinely committed and hugely passionate about securing high calibre leaders to lead and support Lean enterprise-wide journeys across all sectors. Building sustainable Lean leadership and employee capability is key for driving successful transformations. This means assigning the right people with the right skills to lead and facilitate improvement activities so that both cultural and bottom line improvements can take place. Daniel has carved out an exceptional reputation in this arena globally and has become one of the leading executive recruiters in this specialist field.
Prior to launching Lean Executives, Daniel held senior posts within two global executive search organisations based in London delivering Lean enterprise recruitment solutions. Since 2000, Daniel has recruited global Lean leaders and teams for the likes of ASOS, Baker Hughes, Burberry, Caterpillar, Crane Co., DHL, Ford Europe, GKN, Jaguar Land Rover, JCB, Meggitt, Nestle, NHS, Rolls-Royce and Siemens.
He has supported the growth of several Lean consultancies across Europe and Asia and with the increasing role of Automation and AI enabling the digital enterprise transformation journey, Daniel is well positioned to support clients seeking business transformational talent in Digital Lean, Industry 4.0, Smart Factory implementations, end-to-end supply chain optimisation and operating model transformations.
Daniel is passionate about sharing business best practices and bringing networks together. He holds regular ‘Lean Luncheon’ events which bring together senior executives from across the spectrum of industries. These interactive events showcase ‘good practice’ and attendees depart with fresh new ideas and initiatives that can be utilised in their own work space.
Outside of work, Daniel loves to spend time with his wife and two teenage daughters travelling and enjoying the big outdoors. He has run 5 of the 6 world major marathons and in June 2023 was part of an incredible team of 18 cyclists that cycled all 21 stages of the Tour de France (3,404km’s and the equivalent of ascending Mount Everest 7 times!) 1 week ahead of the professionals, and helped raise over £1,000,000 for the charity, Cure Leukaemia.
